As an Accounting Manager specializing in Treasury, you will play an integral role in overseeing all treasury-related accounting functions, financial reporting, and budget forecasting for our Health Plan. Your expertise will be crucial in establishing robust policies and procedures that ensure accurate and timely reporting while adhering to applicable accounting standards (GAAP, SAP, etc.). You will also focus on strengthening internal controls and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. Your leadership will be essential in managing and developing a talented accounting team.

As an Accounting Manager at Providence Health Plan, your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all treasury-related accounting activities to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports for all Health Plan entities.
• Hiring, mentoring, and conducting performance evaluations for your direct reports.
• Developing and upholding accounting policies, procedures, and workflows to guarantee precise financial reporting and robust internal controls.
• Managing the preparation and review of the annual cash budget and multi-year cash forecasting processes.
• Collaborating with Finance Analytics and Underwriting to ensure the accurate accounting of estimates and analyses used in financial reporting.
• Leading or participating in projects that impact accounting and financial reporting, including system upgrades and the implementation of new business requirements.
• Acting as the primary contact for financial audits related to treasury by both internal and external auditors.
• Reviewing and approving all documents necessary for month-end close, including general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
• Providing timely financial data and reports to senior leadership and regulatory agencies as required.
• Establishing and monitoring departmental performance standards for the accounting team.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the healthcare insurance sector.
• A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
