    Overview

    Join our team in an exciting role focused on the advancement of our Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) initiatives. As a key member of the UAV Remote Pilot family, you will play a vital role in the development and support of our UAS programs, ensuring seamless equipment maintenance, conducting research, creating flight plans, and facilitating training and operations. Your contributions will directly support our business objectives through effective UAV flight operations.

    PG&E showcases a competitive salary range for this position, reflective of our commitment to fair compensation based on factors like skills, education, experience, and market trends. This range is designed specifically for your location:

    A reasonable salary range is:

    Bay Area Minimum: $73,000

    Bay Area Maximum: $109,000

    &/OR

    California Minimum: $69,000

    California Maximum: $104,000

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in executing UAV Flight Program activities under senior operator supervision.
    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols for a secure work environment.
    • Perform and document necessary maintenance on PG&E’s drone fleet.
    • Conduct UAV flights to support operational needs.
    • Organize data collected during flights and input relevant information into databases.
    • Please note: This is strictly an onsite position with travel requirements up to 75%.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Part 107 Small UAS Remote Pilot Certification.
    • Valid California driver’s license.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Aeronautics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Certification from the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Level 1 Trusted Operator Program or similar Level 1 sUAS Training Program.
    • Experience flying UAVs, specifically multi-rotor and/or fixed-wing aircraft.
    • Familiarity with departmental standard operating procedures and commitment to safety protocols.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in camera sensor settings for capturing still images and high-definition video.
    • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs safely and comfortably.
    • Competency in using Microsoft Office and MS OneDrive technology suites.
    • Knowledge of flight control systems.
    • Adept at working independently and collaboratively within a team.
