This is a remote position; however, travel within Portland and nearby areas is necessary. Candidates must reside in or near Portland, OR, or Vancouver, WA.

ARE YOU THE RIGHT FIT? If you possess 2+ years’ experience as a property adjuster with a solid background in writing estimates using Xactimate (experience with Symbility is an advantage!) and handling casualty and third-party property damage claims, we are eager to connect with you. In this role, you will take charge of investigating and adjusting residential and commercial property and casualty claims, working with minimal supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct timely inspections of claims and communicate with all relevant parties.
Investigate claim circumstances to determine coverage, causation, and compensable damages/reserves.
Analyze insurance policies and pertinent records to establish coverage eligibility.
Prepare and present repair or replacement estimates.
Engage in interviews with claimants and witnesses regarding filed claims.
Negotiate settlements for both first and third-party claims.
Manage salvage and subrogation tasks as directed by clients.
Foster client relationships to ensure ongoing business referrals.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete other tasks as assigned.
Support the organization’s quality initiatives.
Travel as necessary to fulfill job requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Certifications
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is preferred. IIA-AIC designation is required. Additionally, an appropriate state adjuster license is mandatory.
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years related experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience is essential.
Skills & Qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication abilities, including presentation skills.
Proficient with PCs, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting and documentation.
Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Effective time management and organizational capabilities.
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
Consistently meet or exceed established performance competencies.

Ability to push or pull weights of up to 100 pounds.
Willingness to drive for up to 4 hours daily.
Frequent use of manual dexterity is required.
Auditory/Visual Requirements: Proficient hearing, vision, and verbal communication are essential.
In accordance with legal requirements, Sedgwick provides a transparent compensation range for roles where applicable. The starting salary for this position is $85,000.00 – $90,000.00 USD annually, with additional commission eligibility.
