    Author Health seeks a behavioral health nurse practitioner to provide clinical care on a multidisciplinary team providing virtual-first care to seniors with serious mental illness (SMI).


    • Perform virtual initial psychiatric assessments, and follow-up care, to seniors with serious mental illness, through collaboration with a psychiatrist
    • Create treatment plans that may involve prescribing medication, referring to psychotherapy or other modalities of treatment, and determining whether referrals to higher levels of care are warranted
    • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to address patients physical, behavioral health and social needs, including psychiatry (MD/DO/NP), primary care, social work, community health workers and care coordinators
    • Deliver patient care and patient education in a manner that is appropriate to a patient s age, physical ability, educational level, and culture, potentially involving the patient s family members in this process
    • Participate in the coordination of care with PCPs and other medical professionals who are taking care of patients
    • Be comfortable seeing patients when they need to be seen and doing psychiatric urgent care
    • When necessary, order laboratory and imaging workup
    • Timely and comprehensive documentation of clinical work in the electronic health record
    • Perform similar or related duties as assigned or required
    • Comfort working within a new care delivery paradigm and fast-paced environment
