    *Note: The successful candidate must attend a mandatory 7-week training program. Working hours will include shifts from Monday to Friday, as well as weekends.*

    As part of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in assessing and managing delinquent and high-risk accounts, identifying opportunities for effective collections. Your expertise will enable you to understand customer needs, providing tailored collection services to both existing clients and potential customers. You will guide clients on strategic payment options and develop solutions that align with their goals while adhering to established procedures. Responsibilities may also encompass training, quality assurance, vendor oversight, and managing disputes related to credit collections.

    • Provide exceptional customer service that fosters trust through your expertise and responsive support.
    • Build strong relationships with clients to enhance their confidence in your role as a trusted advisor.
    • Develop and nurture long-term, value-driven relationships, aiming to expand the overall business relationship.
    • Implement proven loss mitigation strategies for resolving non-performing and high-risk accounts effectively.
    • Manage incoming inquiries professionally and efficiently, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
    • Engage with customers to uncover their needs and offer insights into payment options and collection strategies.
    • Facilitate client communications, process transactions, and collaborate with internal teams to fulfill customer requests.
    • Integrate marketing initiatives into customer interactions when appropriate.
    • Analyze data to generate actionable insights and reconnect with clients for tailored recommendations.
    • Handle customer transactions expertly or escalate complex cases to management as necessary.
    • Complete necessary documentation to ensure accuracy in processing customer requests.
    • Organize work information meticulously to guarantee thoroughness and accuracy.
    • Participate in optimizing the collections life cycle by implementing effective loss mitigation solutions for non-performing accounts.
    • Remain informed about the evolving needs of the Collections departments and refer customers as necessary.
    • Keep current with trends and regulations affecting collections practices, applying this knowledge in interactions with customers.
    • Safeguard the confidentiality of both customer and banking information.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting and adopting enhancements for more effective processes.
    • Stay updated on industry practices and compliance requirements to maintain a high level of service quality.
    • Manage a diverse range of tasks within established guidelines effectively.
    • Identify issues and determine appropriate next steps or escalation processes when needed.
    • Willingness to take on broader responsibilities as required.

    Qualifications:

    • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience, ideally paired with a post-secondary educational background in a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
    • Familiarity with federal, state/provincial, and local consumer collections laws.
    • Understanding of BMO’s products and services.
    • Awareness of the competitive landscape and trends in product offerings.
    • Basic specialized knowledge related to the role.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Effective organizational skills.
    • Proven collaboration and teamwork abilities.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

    Salary: $33,850.00 – $49,500.00

    Pay Type: Salaried

    This salary range reflects BMO Financial Group’s anticipated compensation for this position, which may vary based on location, experience, education, and qualifications. Commission roles will align with the outlined salary target for the first year.
