    Job Description

    Join our dynamic team as a Broadcast Engineer, where you’ll play a vital role in coordinating and maintaining cutting-edge computer-based broadcast equipment. As a seasoned television engineer, you will support exhilarating live studio productions and spearhead infrastructure upgrades. Your expertise will be crucial in the installation and upkeep of video, audio, and other essential broadcasting equipment, ensuring that our network delivers an impressive integration of over 1,000 hours of live feeds from around the globe.

    This fast-paced role often involves early morning live events, particularly from Wednesday through Sunday, requiring a willingness to travel extensively. You will primarily work from our Santa Monica, CA office, but also travel to various remote locations, including Florida, Atlanta, and Dallas, to support exciting Pickleball events.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform preventive maintenance and execute troubleshooting on a diverse range of computer and electronic devices at various remote sites, including video and audio switching equipment, processing systems, HD cameras, and encoding/decoding technologies.

    • Ensure the efficient operation of broadcast computer-based equipment, overseeing software, hardware, and local area network applications throughout the station.

    • Swiftly respond to trouble calls regarding broadcast or computer equipment, including instances outside of regular business hours.

    • Keep software versions current, guarantee compliance with licensing, and adhere to all corporate IT security protocols.

    • Contribute to the planning of future equipment installations and upgrades, providing insightful recommendations for requirements and budgeting.

    • Maintain flexible working hours to accommodate live Pickleball tournaments throughout the calendar year.

    • Travel to remote work sites as needed to ensure seamless operations.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in broadcasting or equivalent technical knowledge.

    • Exceptional leadership abilities along with outstanding communication skills.

    • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to delivering quality results.

    • Proficiency in programming Haivision gateways and managing Cisco Meraki networks.

    • Experience setting up and dismantling mobile production trucks.

    • A robust understanding of IP-based remote production and post-production workflows.

    • Proven knowledge of workflows associated with computer-based editing systems.

    • Technical support expertise with AVID and automation systems in production control rooms and Master Control.

    • Experience with the installation and upgrade of SMPTE 2110 broadcast equipment to enhance operational efficiency.

    • Intercom programming experience, specifically with RTS ADAM and UNITY systems.

    • Knowledge and experience in programming and maintaining Calrec audio consoles.

    The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000, determined by various factors including relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and geographic location.
