Join a dynamic team at the California Department of Corrections in Elk Grove, CA, as a Primary Care Physician specializing in Telemedicine. This opportunity offers you the chance to make a significant impact while working in an engaging outpatient setting within a correctional facility.

As a Primary Care Physician, you will provide essential healthcare services to adult patients, embracing a schedule that typically runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, unless specified otherwise. This ongoing role is set to begin ASAP, with a minimum coverage requirement of three months. Expect to manage an average of 16 to 20 patient encounters daily, with specific outpatient responsibilities to be determined.

You will collaborate with a dedicated support team including nurses, medical assistants, and certified nursing assistants to deliver quality care. Candidates should be board-certified or board-eligible and must hold current BLS and ACLS certifications. Proficiency in laceration repairs, suturing, treatment of broken bones, and general health assessments is essential.

Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting systems is preferred, although specific details will be provided during the onboarding process. Credentialing and privileging typically take 2-3 weeks, allowing you to quickly start making a difference in the lives of your patients.
