Horizon North – Chi Mino Ozhitoowin (CMO) Joint Venture Partnership:
Horizon North has joined forces with Chi Mino Ozhitoowin (CMO) to deliver critical camp, catering, and infrastructure services for the Waasigan Transmission Line Project. CMO LP represents a collaboration among Eagle Lake, Gakijiwanong Anishinaabe Nation (formerly Lac La Croix First Nation), Fort William, Seine River, Lac Seul, and Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nations, along with Ojibway Nation of Saugeen. This partnership is built on shared values of cultural heritage, community welfare, and sustainable development, aimed at leveraging the opportunities provided by the Waasigan Project. Together, we strive to foster socio-economic growth by creating meaningful employment and delivering economic advantages for our partner communities and their members.
Job Overview
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As a Janitor, you will be an essential member of our team, playing a critical role in maintaining cleanliness across our site. You will collaborate with the Lead Housekeeper and Camp Manager to uphold the company’s high standards for cleanliness and quality.
This position offers a unique remote working lifestyle within a camp environment, equipped with the following amenities:
All meals and accommodations provided
Transportation arranged to and from site locations from designated areas in Thunder Bay, Dryden, and surrounding regions
A private room featuring cable television
Reliable access to Wi-Fi
Convenient laundry facilities and detergents
Access to fitness facilities and communal areas
Core Responsibilities Include:
Cleaning and sanitizing all communal areas, including the gym, recreation room, boot room, and front lobby
Collecting and disposing of garbage and recycling
Ensuring proper floor maintenance, including sweeping prior to operating the T-300 floor scrubber
Regularly cleaning and sanitizing all public restrooms
Cleaning and sanitizing management offices and front desk areas
Refilling hand sanitizer stations throughout the site to ensure consistent availability
Maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment at all times
Qualifications
WHO ARE WE SEEKING?
Experience in a remote lodge, hotel, or institutional cleaning setting; commercial cleaning experience is advantageous
Ability to commit to a rotation of 2 weeks on, followed by 2 weeks off
A dedicated team player focused on achieving client satisfaction
Skill in managing multiple tasks and organizing workloads effectively
Must possess valid government-issued photo ID for site travel
Capability to meet the following physical requirements:
Lift, carry, push or pull weights up to 50 lbs
Climb ladders or stairs as needed
Engage in standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, or sitting tasks for extended durations
Perform repetitive hand tasks requiring full dexterity
Work with arms fully extended and overhead

Work Schedule and Compensation:
Janitors adhere to a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, working in remote locations that may require air travel or shuttle transport. Flexibility may be needed for nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Compensation is competitive, with hourly wages starting at $18.73.
