Job Overview: As a pivotal Commercial Construction Foreman, you will serve as a vital liaison between the Superintendent, Project Manager, and various stakeholders, ensuring the effective execution of ground-up projects and property expansions. This role demands hands-on experience in managing diverse construction trades, including civil works, structural concrete, paving, wood and metal framing, electrical systems, and interior finishes. You will be instrumental in supervising subcontractors, coordinating schedules, and maintaining project compliance with codes and regulations for projects ranging from $1 million to $25 million.

    Key Results:

    • Play an essential role in ensuring the projects are completed on budget and ahead of schedule.
    • Drive the team towards achieving a 10% EBITDA goal.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Act as a vital support to the Superintendent and Project Manager, serving as a secondary point of contact for all project-related communications.
    • Assist in the oversight of subcontractors, inspections, and testing to uphold high standards of quality control and regulatory compliance.
    • Contribute to the management of project schedules, coordinating subcontractor activities and providing timely progress updates.
    • Support financial management by aligning project activities with budgetary constraints.
    • Help define and manage scope to ensure clarity and effectiveness in subcontractor responsibilities.
    • Oversee construction permit processes, ensuring that all inspections and contractor obligations are fulfilled.
    • Collaborate with engineering and architectural professionals throughout project execution to maintain design and construction cohesion.
    • Assist in identifying and evaluating local subcontractors based on performance and quality criteria.
    • Contribute to the preparation and review of scopes of work for accurate project estimating and execution.
    • Facilitate the subcontractor selection process to ensure the right match for project needs.
    • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations throughout project lifecycles.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and innovative construction techniques.
    • Participate in annual planning sessions and assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance project efficiency.

    Qualifications:

    • A minimum of 1 year of experience in general contracting and managing commercial construction projects.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on collaborative learning from senior management.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
    • A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Capacity to swiftly learn and implement new systems for enhanced project efficiency.
    • Familiarity with Procore, MS Project, along with experience using an iPad and laptop is preferred but not required.
    • Outstanding organizational and time management aptitudes.
    • A proactive and positive mindset, emphasizing quality and adherence to SCM’s high standards of excellence.
