    Job Description

    Civista Bank is on the lookout for a dedicated professional to join our team as a Business Systems Specialist focused on Consumer Lending. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that Civista Bank’s Lending Systems operate at peak efficiency, aligning with the requirements set by our Lending, Loan Operations, and Credit Departments. As the authoritative figure for our Lending Systems—which encompass Mortgage, HELOC, and various consumer loan offerings—you will engage with the entire system life cycle, providing essential support and guidance.

    Your expertise will extend to evaluating third-party solutions, optimizing business rules, configurations, and performance settings, as well as delivering necessary training. In addition, you’ll be responsible for providing second-level support across all system components, including ancillary applications.

    Your key contributions will include:

    • Collaborating directly with the Loan Operations, Lending, and senior management teams to assess and fulfill both current and future loan processing needs.
    • Engaging with the Compliance Department to navigate regulatory requirements and their implications on system modifications, maintaining a balance between operational efficiency and the interests of the bank and our customers.
    • Translating high-level business and user needs into detailed functional requirements that clearly outline how our Loan systems should be tailored and enhanced to serve Civista Bank effectively.
    • Partnering with Lending, Loan Operations, Credit, and relevant vendors to ensure that requirements are comprehensively developed, tested, and executed.
    • Overseeing all configuration updates within lending systems, managing new and modified parameters.
    • Serving as the primary IT contact for lending-related projects as well as issue analysis and resolution.
    • Acting as a liaison between IT, Loan Operations, Lending, Credit, and vendors to ensure streamlined communication and project success.
    • Identifying and procuring critical data necessary for thorough analyses to inform decision-making.
    • Leading presentations at different management levels and working collaboratively with various departments to gather essential information.
    • Assisting in the formulation of business policies.
    • Actively participating in project meetings that influence lending and loan operations.
    • Proposing process enhancements to increase data collection efficiency and improve reporting capabilities.
    • Managing user access and rights for ancillary loan applications.
    • Troubleshooting both hardware and software issues related to personnel computers.
    • Providing informal training and support for company employees on Jack Henry, Encompass, and related systems.
    • Maintaining consistent communication with the Business Systems Manager regarding project status and daily operational challenges.

    To succeed in this role, you should possess:

    • 8 to 10 years of professional experience in a relevant analytical capacity within lending or operations, ideally with hands-on experience with Encompass and Jack Henry systems.
    • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence across both internal teams and external organizations while cultivating trust and diplomacy.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the various functions and requirements of banking departments as they relate to the loan system and its interface with Jack Henry.
    • A willingness to learn and master position-specific software tools.
    • Strong self-motivation alongside excellent attention to detail, organizational capabilities, and analytical prowess.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • An ability to manage multiple projects effectively under deadlines with frequent interruptions.

    Physical requirements for this position include:

    • Frequent use of computer screens, requiring good eyesight for reading reports and documents.
    • Communication abilities through reading, speaking, listening, and typing.
    • Strong concentration skills, even in a dynamic work environment.
    • The capacity to lift files or equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
    • Some travel may be necessary for meetings and training sessions.
