This remote position requires candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Pontiac, or Milford to be on-site a minimum of three times a week.
Join GM Defense (GMD) as part of the Integrated Product Support (IPS) team, a growth-driven segment of General Motors! The IPS organization is dedicated to providing aftermarket services tailored to our defense industry clients, aiming to exceed customer expectations and foster business expansion. In this crucial role, the Sustainment Parts and Service Operations team is responsible for streamlining business processes that facilitate parts order fulfillment and customer service for GMD clients. The Sustainment Parts and Service Manager is pivotal in crafting and executing the aftermarket parts and service strategy to enhance operational efficiency.
In this capacity, you will oversee all aspects of aftersales parts order fulfillment and service execution, for both warranty and non-warranty scenarios, leveraging GM’s extensive dealer network and Field Service Representatives (FSRs). As the Sustainment Parts and Service Manager, you will shape the go-to-market strategy for key defense customers, encompassing pricing strategies, order fulfillment, and service provision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct operational efforts to maximize parts sales and warranty fulfillment.
- Construct and implement forward-thinking operational strategies utilizing both new and existing system capabilities.
- Assist in the formulation of pricing models and fulfillment tactics for external parts sales.
- Collaborate on the enhancement of IT systems that support operational and financial efficiency.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of financial operations, sales metrics, and profitability.
- Develop streamlined cross-functional workflows to facilitate effective bid responses.
- Cultivate and sustain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Program Management team to optimize support for Service Engineering objectives.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Over 7 years of relevant experience in planning and operational execution.
- Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven capability to navigate and lead in ambiguous settings.
- Strong business insight with a track record of translating strategies into actionable plans.
- Experience crafting and executing long-term growth strategies for team development.
- Aptitude for defining effective processes within a lean organizational framework, leveraging expertise from various centers.
- Keen customer focus and dedication to delivering outstanding products.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage with all levels of General Motors and government leadership.
- Quick adaptability to new tools and technologies, leading their implementation.
- Competence in managing multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with GM LLC Service operations (Customer Care & Aftersales and Product Engineering).
- Solid understanding of global program management and the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP).
- Experience with the U.S. Army, TACOM, and other DoD operations.
- Background in dynamic environments requiring adaptability and flexibility.
- Knowledge of DoD and military program management principles and standards.
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary range for this role is $110,000 – $172,100. Actual compensation will vary based on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience. The position offers a bonus potential tied to individual and company performance metrics.
Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, candidates will have the opportunity to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program.
