As the Senior Manager of Data Science focused on Merchandising & Pricing, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to enhance the experience of athletes and teammates. You will help deliver an exceptional customer journey through advanced AI/GenAI-driven decision-making tools. Job Purpose:
We are looking for a visionary leader with robust experience in traditional Machine Learning as well as cutting-edge AI and GenAI methodologies in the realms of pricing, promotions, and inventory management. In your role as a people manager, you will guide a diverse team of Machine Learning Engineers and Scientists, ensuring their professional growth while actively contributing to complex technical challenges. Collaboration with product, business, and engineering teams will be essential as you develop a comprehensive science roadmap that aligns with our overarching business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive artificial intelligence and machine learning roadmaps tailored to meet unique business challenges.
- Hire, mentor, and motivate a high-performance scientific team throughout the complete machine learning model development lifecycle.
- Partner with domain experts in business and product to thoroughly understand challenges in Merchandising and Pricing, allowing for precise technical solutions.
- Create and manage project plans, metrics, and OKRs that resonate with our goal of delivering intelligent decision-making tools, ultimately enhancing customer experiences for Merchandisers and Pricing analysts.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in data science and AI, ensuring our team adheres to best practices and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Machine Learning Platform team to ensure that the platform meets the diverse needs of our scientists and engineers.
- Design ML pipelines and provide hands-on technical guidance to resolve challenges and accelerate team progress.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience is essential, along with a robust foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and AI.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, driving successful delivery and achieving business metrics.
- Extensive familiarity with popular machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI, and LangChain.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and other programming languages.
- Experience in an Agile environment, with knowledge of project management tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Adeptness in mentoring and developing junior team members, including conducting performance reviews.
- Familiarity with software engineering principles applicable to machine learning systems.
- Confident in presenting scientific results to senior and executive leadership, influencing key strategic decisions.
- Deep understanding of state-of-the-art machine learning applications within the retail sector, particularly in forecasting, pricing, and allocation algorithms.
- Bring a collaborative spirit, problem-solving mindset, and a focus on delivering results to every interaction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: A Master’s Degree or equivalent in quantitative disciplines such as computer science, engineering, physics, or mathematics.
- General Experience: Significant professional experience coupled with extensive job-related expertise (6 to 10 years).
- Managerial Experience: Proven ability to plan and manage resources effectively to meet established objectives (3 to 6 years).
Targeted Pay Range: $114,300.00 – $190,500.00. This role is part of a competitive total rewards package, which may include additional components such as incentives, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is influenced by factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
