Position Summary:
As a vital member of our team, you will take on the important role of coder, where your primary responsibilities will include meticulously reviewing and analyzing medical records for inpatient, outpatient, and professional services. You will assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes based on documentation provided by the physician(s). Maintaining the Standards of Ethical Coding established by the American Health Information Management Association and adhering to established coding guidelines is essential in this role.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: A minimum of 3 years in ICD-10-CM diagnosis and procedure coding, along with HCPCS/CPT coding, specifically within acute care inpatient/outpatient or professional services settings
Certifications: Must hold at least one of the following: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC), or be obtained within 6 months of hire
Preferred Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited Health Information Technology program or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Health Information Management program
