Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Sales Engineer and play a vital role in driving our company’s expansion within the computer and network security sector. This remote position (preferably based in MD or along the East Coast) reports directly to the VP of Sales. We seek a proactive individual with robust technical expertise who can offer essential support to both our direct sales team and our clientele. Your hands-on experience will be crucial in guiding the proof of concept/evaluation phase from initial interaction through to contract finalization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Sales team and customers to grasp their business and technical needs, offering expert guidance on SixMap product features, specifications, design, customization, implementation, integration, and management of intricate technical products and services.
- Lead both pre-and post-sales technical discussions in client and partner meetings, engaging across various levels and fields to deconstruct business and technical needs, issues, and priorities.
- Craft detailed written and oral responses to customer inquiries about services and sophisticated system designs while offering strategic recommendations and technical advice.
- Deliver engineering solutions to current and prospective customers that encompass onboarding, training, and quality assurance aligned with technical and contractual standards.
- Develop and share detailed technical documentation and capability presentations for both internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Prepare and present service demos, showcasing seamless integration within customer environments.
- Facilitate technical pre-sales and post-sales support, collaborating with SixMap’s product development, marketing, engineering, and operations teams.
- Maintain a pulse on customer requirements and use cases, sharing insights on the competitive landscape, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure that implementations meet and exceed customer expectations and sales objectives.
- Communicate customer feedback and requests for product enhancements to the Product Management and Engineering teams.
- Assess customers’ security environments and critical applications, executing proof-of-concept engagements as necessary to convert prospects into successful technical wins.
- Manage trial/POC engagements with multiple clients effectively.
- Complete Requests for Proposals (RFPs), security questionnaires, and other necessary technical documentation during the sales journey.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with technical staff in information security departments across various industries.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer/Solutions Architect within networking and/or security platforms.
- Profound technical knowledge of networking and security platforms in both troubleshooting and architectural contexts.
- In-depth familiarity with network port scanning, vulnerability scanning, and management solutions, alongside awareness of industry dynamics and competitor offerings.
- Experience with leading network scanning tools including Metasploit, Nessus, Nmap, Qualys, SolarWinds, and Wireshark.
- Expertise in multi-OSI Layer technologies and networking protocols, emphasizing BGP, DNS, IGP, IPv4, IPv6, IPSec, NAT, and TCP.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences, ranging from technical staff to C-level executives.
- Proficient in influencing cross-functional teams within a matrixed environment.
- Strong analytical capabilities, acute attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, geographically dispersed conditions.
- Capable of juggling multiple high-priority tasks to successful completion.
- Willingness to travel a minimum of 20%.
