The pay range for this role is between $27.00 and $35.00 per hour, aligned with the national average.
Job Highlights
The Field Service Technician at Renewance plays a critical role in delivering exceptional technical support for our industrial batteries utilized in stationary energy storage systems. You will engage in the hands-on installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of battery systems, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the installation and commissioning of battery energy storage systems and associated products.
- Set up and configure control-related firmware essential for communicating with and operating the battery systems.
- Conduct both ‘cold’ and ‘hot’ commissioning of battery systems, addressing performance issues, including cell and module charging/balancing.
- Deliver expert technical support for troubleshooting and fault isolation during all commissioning stages.
- Maintain direct communication with customers regarding project execution, ensuring accurate and timely daily reporting.
- Oversee the return and repair processes for defective parts as part of warranty claims.
- Travel to designated job sites and remain until all assigned tasks are successfully completed.
- Manage field tools efficiently for various project assignments.
- Strive for excellence in all operational functions.
Qualifications:
- A High School diploma, supplemented by introductory college coursework.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in electrical technician roles or services related to electrical power equipment and safety certifications.
- Proficiency in working with computers, including installation of control-related firmware and software.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- A quick learner capable of handling multiple objectives and projects.
- Effective at following directions and delivering on task commitments.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable.
- Evidence of leadership, teamwork, integrity, and accountability in previous roles.
- Willingness to travel frequently and engage with customers on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A degree in a technical discipline or in Computer Science/Engineering.
- Proven ability to manage, analyze, and interpret various data sets.
- Understanding of battery standards, regulations, and safety practices.
- Demonstrated success in achieving quality, performance, schedule, and cost goals for projects.
- Experience in project and personnel management.
- Proven track record in solving customer-focused problems.
Travel and Training Details:
- Ideal candidates will reside in Arizona, Nevada, or Southern California; however, other locations may be considered. Expect to travel 75% or more to customer sites.
