    Job Description

    About Scope3

Welcome to Scope3, a pioneering force in collaborative sustainability within the digital advertising realm. Our mission is to demystify the intricate digital advertising supply chain, enabling brands to quantify and significantly diminish digital waste, thereby cutting carbon emissions from advertising and enhancing the effectiveness of their advertising spend. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a company that is not only committed to its growth but also to addressing one of the planet’s most pressing challenges: the climate crisis.

We are a venture-backed team of over 100 talented individuals spread across the globe. Our leadership team brings invaluable experience, having shaped the digital advertising landscape as we know it today. Recently, we secured $20M in Series B funding led by GV in October 2023, with further investment of $25M expected in October 2024. With a robust customer base exceeding 150 clients, Scope3 is positioned for rapid growth.

Embracing a fully remote work model, we offer flexibility and the ability to collaborate asynchronously, appealing to talent across the globe, particularly in New York and Europe. We are currently expanding our team in Canada, Australia, the UK, France, Germany, and the United States.

    About the Role

In the long run, you will lead the formation of a high-caliber FP&A team that fosters embedded business partnerships to drive growth. At Scope3, you will have a unique chance to collaborate with in-house development resources, creating innovative tools and data structures to meet our reporting and forecasting requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Act as a strategic financial partner, collaborating with the executive leadership to identify and assess strategic risks and opportunities, transforming strategic vision into concrete plans and objectives.
    • Support the evolution of our business models and pricing strategies through financial analyses and driver-centric modeling, with a focus on marketplace economics.
    • Craft and manage key metrics and KPIs to highlight business drivers and trends, offering clear, actionable recommendations regarding opportunities and risks.
    • Collaborate closely with our commercial team to deliver comprehensive reporting, modeling, and analyses that support market growth and goal fulfillment.
    • Recruit, nurture, and develop a team of FP&A professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to create a motivated, high-performing team.
    • Design and oversee financial and operational planning processes, partnering with executive leadership and operational teams.
    • Manage internal and external financial communication and reporting.

    Skills & Experience

    • 10-12+ years of experience in global financial management, with significant interaction with executive leadership; at least 5 years of experience building and leading FP&A teams.
    • Proven experience driving rapid growth in organizations scaling through $50M in revenue and beyond.
    • In-depth understanding of growth strategies and monetization methods that support marketplace business models, including enterprise sales and product-led growth (PLG).
    • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, capable of developing intricate financial and operational models that inform executive-level decisions.
    • Proficient in navigating the complexities of fast-paced, global startup environments.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships and influence leadership decisions through effective communication of data analysis.
    • Collaboration-focused mindset with the ability to align financial and operational objectives with corporate strategy in a rapidly evolving global setting.
    • Meticulous attention to detail, capable of juggling multiple projects while maintaining perspective on the overall strategic vision.
    • Experience in assessing and implementing systems for firm-wide analysis, planning, and reporting in an agile and scalable manner.
    • Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with proficiency in business intelligence tools; familiarity with SQL or light coding is a valued bonus.

Preference May Be Given To Candidates With The Following:

    • SQL or light coding skills.
    • Experience thriving in remote, globally distributed startup environments.

    Our Culture & Values

    • A strong passion for environmental stewardship and climate action. Our mission-driven ethos inspires our hard work and dedication to delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.
    • Commitment to clear, empathetic communication within a global, remote-first setting. We utilize tools like Notion, Miro, Slack, and Loom to collaborate effectively.
    • A healthy approach to workplace conflict; we prioritize solution-oriented discussions and focus on moving forward swiftly.
    • Accountability to deliver on our promises. We strive to meet our commitments and avoid making promises we can’t keep.
