ROLE SUMMARY AND IMPACT
We are on the lookout for a passionate and skilled individual to join our OpenDoor team as an Implementation Planning Director. This full-time position is based in London and will report directly to the Implementation Planning Lead. The successful candidate will manage a collaborative team of digital planners and channel specialists while supporting WPP’s mission to provide consistent and exceptional service for Amazon across its diverse business sectors, including XCM, Prime Video, and RMI.
The Implementation Planning team serves as a vital connector between Strategy & Planning and Activation, as well as data and tech teams. They are responsible for crafting comprehensive briefs in partnership with the strategy and communications teams, ensuring that our channel specialists meet client expectations efficiently while embedding operational excellence. Additionally, they contribute to reporting, providing insights, and supporting agency pitches.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Synthesis:
- Lead specific lines of business within XCM, organizing digital teams for planning, activation, data application, and campaign optimization.
- Utilize deep knowledge in Social, Programmatic, OLV, and regional buying to make informed decisions across various digital opportunities.
- Manage both local and multi-market campaigns, demonstrating flexibility between the two.
- Collaborate with planning and strategy teams to agree or challenge media breakout plans for optimal digital media mixing.
- Explore integration opportunities between digital and offline media to enhance campaign effectiveness.
- Oversee media plans for all digital aspects, including budget management, performance tracking, and ensuring campaign goals are met.
- Directly engage in IO-based pan-regional buying and partnerships with multiple market vendors, including briefing and management.
- Consolidate insights from all biddable channels in line with client business objectives.
- Guide teams to develop integrated experience strategies across various digital touchpoints, improving proprietary solutions.
- Offer clients and stakeholders the necessary resources and knowledge for successful systems and platform implementation.
- Maintain a consistent, knowledgeable perspective on digital investment strategies and optimizations.
- Develop advanced analytics frameworks to measure performance across media strategies.
- Advise stakeholders on navigating critical business changes efficiently.
- Lead the creation and delivery of high-quality cross-channel planning for significant campaigns.
- Align planning efforts with client outcomes, quantifying objectives across biddable practice areas.
- Manage campaign budgets proactively, making adjustments as necessary to meet performance goals.
- Analyze performance budgets to identify trends and ensure financial appropriateness while supporting WPP and Amazon’s objectives.
- Seek improvements for client campaigns and advise teams accordingly.
- Cultivate a deep understanding of media channels and planning best practices.
- Translate strategic insights into actionable planning practices for specific client needs.
- Oversee campaign management for quality control and top-notch output.
- Lead pan-regional IO and partnership-based buying for multi-market initiatives.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Navigate a complex, matrixed environment, influencing stakeholders while leading cross-functional teams to achieve shared media objectives.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of WPP Open deliverables and committed campaign KPIs for Amazon, sharing insights across teams as needed.
- Connect with regional and key local market leadership on behalf of Amazon proactively.
- Promote a culture of knowledge sharing, ensuring effective communication and consistent activation excellence for all digital channels.
- Ensure adherence to excellence standards across practices, developing action plans to address any gaps.
- Foster and maintain relationships with clients and agency partners at a mid-senior level for a robust understanding of stakeholder needs and client business objectives.
