Job Description

Join Our Team as a Freelance Health Economic Modeller in Market Access & Health Economics – Fully Remote, EU-Based, £600 – £850 per day, Outside IR35, Contract of 6 – 12 Months!

About Us:

We are on the lookout for a seasoned Freelance Health Economic Modeller to enhance our dynamic network of independent consultants. This is an exciting opportunity for freelancers eager to engage in impactful global projects, collaborating with premier pharmaceutical and medtech clients, and contributing to health economic modelling, market access strategies, and HTA submissions.

Your primary responsibility will involve creating and modifying economic models—spanning cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and pricing models—to effectively illustrate product value in key markets. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with advanced technical skills coupled with the ability to engage and communicate with clients and stakeholders proficiently.

Your Role Includes:

  • Collaborating with a dedicated team to develop and adapt various economic models, including Markov models, partitioned survival models, and decision trees.
  • Analyzing and interpreting both clinical trial and real-world evidence to shape model parameters.
  • Designing cost-effectiveness and budget impact models for submissions to major HTA bodies (e.g., NICE, SMC, HAS, G-BA, EMA).
  • Creating and reviewing detailed technical model documentation, user guides, and comprehensive value stories that align with payer expectations.
  • Providing strategic insights on pricing, reimbursement, and access frameworks.
  • Mentoring and reviewing work from junior analysts or consultants as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build efficient, user-friendly health economic models using Excel or R.
  • Conduct in-depth sensitivity and scenario analyses to validate model robustness.
  • Execute statistical data analysis utilizing tools such as R, SAS, VBA, or Excel.
  • Ensure model development aligns with real-world evidence and relevant clinical outcomes.
  • Assist in the preparation of HTA submissions, presentation slides, and materials for payers.
  • Convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders in an accessible manner.

What We Seek:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in health economics modelling, preferably within consulting or the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Proven track record in supporting or leading models for HTA submissions (NICE, SMC, etc.).
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical abilities, with advanced proficiency in R, Excel, and/or VBA. SAS experience is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of HTA processes, payer requirements, and health economic methodologies.
  • Attention to detail, scientific writing prowess, and effective client communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while managing time efficiently in a rapid-paced, remote environment.
  • A degree in Health Economics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related discipline (MSc or PhD is preferred).

If this opportunity excites you and you meet the criteria for the Freelance Health Economic Modeller position, don’t hesitate to APPLY HERE with your CV. We look forward to connecting with you if you’re a strong fit! 🙂
