    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing neurodevelopmental health by conducting thorough evaluations for a diverse range of patients experiencing specific neurodevelopmental disorders. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary group of physicians, psychiatrists, and allied health professionals to create and execute personalized treatment plans for each patient.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct in-depth neurodevelopmental assessments for individuals with confirmed or suspected developmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Global Developmental Delays. Produce detailed written reports featuring diagnostic impressions.
    • Provide tailored intervention recommendations focused on neurodevelopmental challenges, which may encompass psychotherapy and consultations as necessary. Engage in direct treatment, program development, and collaborate with parents or guardians to discuss patients’ conditions, functional progress, and educational or vocational options.
    • Offer expert consultation on cognitive and neurobehavioral issues for patients with known disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, and genetic syndromes like Fragile X and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
    • Work closely with other medical departments to enhance diagnostic precision and formulate effective treatment strategies for patients with multifaceted medical and psychological needs.
    • Actively participate in clinical collaborations with developmental pediatricians, neurologists, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
    • Recommend community services and resources that align with patients’ treatment goals and connect them with relevant social service organizations.
    • Supervise doctoral psychology interns, postdoctoral fellows, and other mental health trainees or medical residents as required.
    • Deliver direct intervention services focused on neurodevelopmental disorders, including psychotherapy and family consultations when appropriate.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience: A minimum of one year in a doctoral internship with a focus on human/neurodevelopment, plus at least two years within the last five years in neurodevelopmental disorder assessment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience considered on a case-by-case basis.
    • Education: Doctoral degree in Psychology from an American Psychological Association-accredited program, with coursework reflecting training in neuropsychology and psychopathology.
    • Required Licensing: Current California Psychologist License; National Provider Identifier necessary at the time of hire.

    Additional Skills:

    • Ability to operate independently under Business and Professional Code Section 2946.
    • Proficient in administering and interpreting standard assessment measures and providing diagnostic clarifications for neurodevelopmental disorders.
    • Demonstrated experience as part of an interdisciplinary team within psychiatric, pediatric, or neurodevelopmental environments.
    • Familiarity with community resources and regulations, alongside a deep understanding of state laws and ethical standards governing client treatment.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills essential for collaboration.
    • Willingness to work within a Labor/Management Partnership framework.

    Location: California, Lomita – Lomita Behavioral Health
    Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Days: Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
    Travel: Occasional travel (approx. 10% of the time)
