Shift: Full-Time, (3 shifts of 12 hours) covering days, evenings, and nights based on availability.
Work Location: University of Miami Hospital UTower South Nursing Support Services
This role requires in-person attendance; remote work is not an option.
The Remote Patient Attendant – Lead (U) plays a critical role in supervising and guiding all Remote Patient Attendants.
This position embodies professionalism, setting a standard for a compassionate and helpful approach when monitoring and observing high-risk patients.
Responsible for coordinating remote video monitoring functions, this role also provides essential support to the department.
The Lead Remote Video Monitoring Technician ensures that all remote video monitoring services are effectively managed during their shifts, fostering seamless communication between Remote Patient Attendants and clinical teams.
A key aspect of this position includes fostering a secure environment for both patients and coworkers while executing all duties safely.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversee daily operations within the department to meet quality standards, enhance patient satisfaction, and accomplish specified goals. Participate in evaluating staff performance.
Track and ensure adherence to departmental metrics and organizational benchmarks.
Champion quality improvement by actively supporting and consistently promoting the department’s mission and the organization’s vision.
Work collaboratively with leadership to develop, implement, and assess policies aimed at enhancing care quality and operational efficiency.
Contribute to the establishment of departmental goals and objectives that are aligned with the organization’s strategic vision.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures while maintaining performance metrics.
Supervise staffing, training, and performance evaluations of team members.
Guarantee the availability of necessary supplies.
Monitor equipment usage and ensure all devices are functioning properly.
Engage with nursing staff, participating in rounds as necessary to communicate effectively.
Coordinate unit scheduling to ensure optimal patient monitoring levels.
Maintain communication with units regarding patient safety requirements.
Adhere to University and departmental policies while safeguarding University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification and Licensing:
Must possess a valid State of Florida LPN license.
Certification in a relevant specialty or area is preferred.
Experience:
At least 5 years of pertinent experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in executing tasks with precision and attention to detail.
Capable of fostering and maintaining effective interpersonal relationships.
Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both spoken and written formats.
Skilled in analyzing, organizing, and prioritizing tasks, even under pressure, while meeting deadlines.
Able to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
Possess the capability to prioritize, make decisive choices, and respond swiftly in emergency situations.
Ability to inspire, develop, and train team members effectively.
