Overview
Join the GE Vernova Gas Power team as a Gas Turbines Contract Manager, a pivotal role that directly influences our Gas Power Asia Services group and its impact on key client relationships. In this dynamic, customer-focused position, you’ll play an essential part in maintaining our customers’ assets while strengthening their loyalty and satisfaction. Leverage your exceptional customer relationship skills to thrive in this opportunity.
Working under the guidance of the Service Director, you will manage Multi-Year Agreements and Transactional contracts (CSA/TX) with a hybrid approach. Your experience with managing outages associated with Legacy Alstom equipment will be highly advantageous. This role is particularly well-suited for individuals with a background in Project Management and Coordination within a production or services domain, especially in contexts focused on fulfilling customer orders and achieving commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary interface between customers and the project team, ensuring seamless communication regarding all contract performance activities at customer sites.
- Proactively resolve issues by keeping customers updated on project progress and negotiating necessary changes or solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all service, operational, and performance specifications outlined in contracts, including financial and technical metrics. Negotiate proposals and manage contract administration with minimal oversight.
- Cultivate and manage strong customer relationships to enhance overall satisfaction for the contracts assigned to you.
- Oversee the complete billing cycle, including invoicing, payments, cash collections, and account receivables.
- Address any contractual or customer-related issues, acting as the focal point for resolutions, and assess impacts while generating solutions.
- Collaborate with various support teams, such as customer service, engineering, and field service, to ensure successful execution of the service plan.
- Manage any Extra Work or change orders by defining scope, scheduling, and estimating costs for assigned contracts.
- Provide oversight for quality assurance and EHS (safety) compliance on work performed at customer locations.
- Partner with customers’ Operations and Maintenance teams to optimize the reliability and availability of their assets.
- Maintain all related contract documents and ensure timely updates and reporting on execution plans and related activities (e.g., spare parts ordering, manpower scheduling, inventory management, and tool shipments).
- Develop specialized knowledge within your discipline and serve as a quality resource, staying informed of the latest technical developments and contributing to strategy as well as policy advancements.
- Utilize your judgment and technical expertise to solve moderately complex operational issues, using internal and external resources to inform your decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma with a minimum of 6 years of experience in the power generation sector.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Heavy Duty Gas Turbines, preferably Legacy Alstom units.
- At least 3 years of advanced experience in customer service or contractual service agreement management specifically within the power generation industry.
- Willingness and ability to travel (and work remotely) approximately 50% of the time.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven capability to analyze problems and develop effective resolutions.
- Experience in the operations and maintenance of Gas Turbines, including overhaul processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- A solid understanding of the business environment and comprehensive knowledge of CSA terms and conditions.
- Proven project management abilities.
- Experience in interpreting and managing Long Term Service Agreements.
