Our client is on the lookout for a dynamic and seasoned professional to take on the pivotal role of Head of US Accounting and Tax Services. This fully remote opportunity allows you to contribute from the comfort of your home anywhere in the UK.

Role Overview: As our client enhances its support for innovative tech startups and scale-ups operating in the US, this senior leadership role is crucial. We seek an accomplished accounting expert ready to assume comprehensive responsibility for all US financial services from day one. This position merges advanced technical skills, service leadership, and cross-border collaboration.

Responsibilities Include:

• Ownership of US Service Delivery: Oversee all US-facing services, including payroll administration, federal and state corporate tax submissions, sales tax compliance, year-end financial closing, and personal tax advisory services.
• Leading Technology and Process Innovation: Spearhead the assessment and adoption of US-compatible technology solutions, pilot new tools, and design processes that can scale effectively.
• Client Relationship Excellence: Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with key clients focused on the US market, facilitate seamless onboarding, and deliver a cohesive global service experience.
• Development and Leadership of the Team: Construct a dedicated US accounting team, develop standard operating procedures, create training modules, and guide junior team members.
• Strategic Contributions: Influence the client’s global expansion strategy, share insights on US tax and compliance trends, and support revenue-generating initiatives.
• Sales Initiatives and Upselling: Identify upselling prospects, devise strategies to enhance client value, and assist Client Managers in pursuing growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• CPA accreditation or equivalent, along with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a US-centric accounting or finance leadership role, demonstrating a robust understanding of US GAAP, federal and state corporate tax laws, multi-state sales tax, and US payroll systems.
• Experience working closely with US tech startups and familiarity with cloud accounting solutions like Xero is highly desirable.
