About the Role
CARB-X is on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Alliance Manager to enhance our innovative team at Boston University. As a leading non-profit organization committed to combating antibiotic resistance, CARB-X accelerates the pre-clinical development of groundbreaking drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics. Since our inception in 2016, we’ve invested hundreds of millions of dollars into transformative projects, creating one of the largest and most rapidly evolving public-private research collaborations globally. Your primary responsibility will be to manage a diverse portfolio focused on therapeutics and prevention, encompassing antibiotics, vaccines, live biotherapeutics, bacteriophage therapies, and unconventional approaches. Your expertise in drug discovery within biotech or pharma environments, particularly in infectious diseases, is essential, while knowledge of drug development through initial clinical trials will be highly beneficial.
This is a fully remote position, but the ideal candidate should be willing to collaborate across Eastern and Central European time zones.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee and strategically manage a portfolio of therapeutic and prevention projects.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive drug discovery efforts and advance product development.
- Evaluate and integrate scientific innovations into the CARB-X portfolio effectively.
Essential Qualifications
Educational Background: Doctoral degree is mandatory.
Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years of drug development experience within a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
Research Expertise: Proven experience in scientific Research and Development aimed at combating infectious diseases, particularly in drug discovery or diagnostic development leading to clinical trials, is a significant advantage.
Additional Skills Desired:
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a talent for conveying complex information effectively.
Experience in leading cross-functional project teams will be a plus.
Understanding of compliance issues related to drug discovery and development involving animal or human subjects is desirable.
