Responsibilities
As a Research Assistant, you will:
- Facilitate the execution of large-scale healthcare transformation and payment reform initiatives.
- Evaluate health insurance exchange applications to determine eligibility for financial assistance.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and help report findings from the evaluation of health insurance exchange applications.
- Assist in improving business processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing and future projects and proposals for business development.
- Contribute to technical assistance initiatives.
- Assist research teams with project management tasks, including organizing virtual meetings, coordinating schedules, and managing timelines and budgets.
- Help maintain positive client relationships by communicating effectively, summarizing meetings, and arranging logistics.
- Encourage collaboration among team members, both within AIR and with external partners.
- Support business development efforts by coordinating proposal activities, managing timelines, collecting materials, and aiding in budget proposal preparation.
- Review deliverables to ensure high quality and consistency of content.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in health policy, public health, public policy, or a related field.
- Experience or familiarity with data analysis.
- Understanding of Health Insurance Exchanges is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Medicare Advantage is a plus.
- Familiarity with private health plans is also beneficial.
Skills:
- Exceptional writing capabilities.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a knack for identifying and communicating key project issues.
- Keen attention to detail, strong process orientation, and a dedicated work ethic.
- Excellent time management skills and a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent tools (word processing, spreadsheets, email/calendar management, presentation software).
- Strong interpersonal skills that enable effective collaboration with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.

- Comfort navigating a virtual work environment.

AIR’s Total Rewards Program is designed to competitively reward our team members and motivate them to achieve our mission. This role offers an anticipated hourly rate of $25.50, with salary offers determined by internal equity and market competitiveness. Please note that this salary range applies to candidates located in the United States.
