    Job Description

Join us on our mission to transform the way everyone interacts with their finances.

We are revolutionizing the banking experience, moving away from the outdated complexities of traditional banking.

Armed with our vibrant coral cards and innovative get-paid-early feature, coupled with engaging financial education via social media and our celebrated customer support team, we have a track record of creating unforgettable experiences for our users!

Our focus isn’t just on selling products; we are committed to solving problems and making a tangible difference in people’s lives through Monzo ï¸

We invite a skilled Job Architecture specialist to join us for a 12-month fixed-term contract, contributing to building a robust framework from the ground up. We seek someone who is passionate about exploring groundbreaking solutions and eager to play a key role in shaping Monzo’s future.

As Monzo expands rapidly, our goal is to develop a structure that evolves alongside us—one that is fair, transparent, and designed to empower our teams rather than impede them. We want everyone in the organization to have a clear understanding of their growth trajectories, their roles in the larger scheme of things, and the way we reward impactful contributions. This is where your expertise comes into play.

This role is centered around innovating rather than merely improving existing systems. You will architect a new framework: defining roles, establishing levels, and integrating these elements with our compensation strategies and people management systems.

You will bring this vision to life, constructing the foundational framework, steering the implementation process, and ensuring every individual grasps not only what we are doing but also the significance behind it.

If you have successfully navigated this terrain at scale, and thrive in environments filled with challenges, clarity, and the potential for meaningful transformation, we would love to connect with you.

This is a comprehensive overhaul rather than a minor update. You will be pivotal in crafting the architecture that allows Monzo to grow with clarity, equity, and intention.

    Here’s what the role entails:

    • You will lead the research and establishment of Monzo’s future Job Architecture strategy, aligning it with our long-term goals, growth strategies, and evolving tech landscape.
    • You will design the methodologies and processes for the Job Architecture framework, ensuring smooth day-to-day application and maintenance.
    • You will evaluate how we benchmark positions, categorize job families, and facilitate career advancement.
    • You will oversee the project from start to finish. From initial discovery and design through to successful delivery, you will set the rhythm and ensure the project resonates across the organization.
    • You will engage in essential dialogues across Monzo, actively listening to teams, crafting suitable solutions, and clearly articulating the finalized framework and its practical implications.
    • Above all, you’ll serve as our knowledgeable consultant, providing strategic advice that embodies best practices, tailored to fit Monzo’s unique context.

This work will touch every department within the company. When executed effectively, it fosters clarity, fairness, and opportunities for all.

    • Proven experience in researching, designing, and implementing global Job Architecture frameworks while advising on ideal practices.
    • A background in developing and administering internal role leveling frameworks with proficiency in market benchmarking techniques.
    • Experience in project management, including vendor collaboration.
    • A strong background in Fintech, startups, or scaling organizations.
    • Familiarity with the interplay between HRIS systems and Job Architecture frameworks.

We empower you to set up your home workspace effectively; all employees receive MacBooks, and we offer additional support for remote workers to enhance their work-from-home experience.
