    Within GE Vernova, the Gas Power division specializes in creating advanced, efficient natural gas technologies and services, along with cutting-edge decarbonization solutions aimed at fostering a sustainable electrification future. As a vital member of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore is responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading power generation equipment. This work is integral in helping operators manage the world’s energy infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of reliable and affordable energy.

    Role Overview

    As a TFA FEP, you will embark on your career journey by participating in FieldCore’s Field Engineering Program (FEP). This entry-level role is designed to cultivate your technical expertise, leadership abilities, and lean thinking skills through immersive experiences, including:

    • In-person and online training modules

    • Hands-on, on-the-job training

    • Guidance and mentorship from seasoned Technical Field Advisors (TFAs)

    You will gain invaluable experience while traveling and contributing to power solutions for communities. After successfully completing the FEP program, you will qualify for a position as a TFA – Electrical Excitation.

    The TFA – Electrical Excitation role encompasses responsibility for the Power Turbine Generator Excitation System, emphasizing cost control, quality assurance, and the secure management of turbine modules, office equipment, tool trailers, cranes, and spare parts. This position also involves external communication, where Technical Field Advisors provide progress updates to clients, plant owners, or construction firms as necessary.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a robust safety mindset to ensure compliance with GE’s technical and safety standards.

    • Willingness to travel extensively for project assignments.

    • Flexibility to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.

    • Plan pre-outage and installation procedures; recommend and implement relevant policies and procedures.

    • Lead retrofit projects for various excitation systems, generator protection systems, and power stabilization systems.

    • Assist with warranty claims and troubleshoot technical issues.

    • Deliver precise and timely reports both internally and externally.

    • Enhance customer satisfaction through a commitment to quality work.

    • Contribute to business expansion initiatives.

    • Trace through software documentation and implement control modifications.

    • Set up and modify hardware and software related to the Gas/Steam Turbine Excitation/LCI systems.

    • Execute software changes related to excitation control systems.

    • Work with both analog and digital control systems.

    • Provide technical direction for system installations and functionality checks; manage start-up/shutdown sequences and turbine operations.

    • May undertake additional responsibilities to further FieldCore’s vision and align with our core values.

    Required Qualifications & Experience:

    • Degree in engineering or a related field.

    • Strong aptitude for interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrumentation diagrams.

    • Extensive travel availability for project commitments.

    • Proficiency in English is essential.

    Preferred Traits:

    • Experience within Field Services or Power Generation sectors.

    • A proactive attitude with excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and team members.

    • Familiarity with Alstom, Siemens, GE Aeroderivative, or other OEM machinery.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software applications for HMI and other technical updates.

    • Hands-on electronics and/or mechanical troubleshooting abilities.

    • Eagerness to learn and address complex problems.

    • Demonstrated ownership mentality and strong work ethic.
