We are on the lookout for a talented Senior Quality Engineer to elevate the quality of our product deliveries and enhance our engineering processes. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with our stream-aligned, cross-functional teams, ensuring that testing strategies are integrated during the technical design phase and that effective acceptance criteria are established. Your expertise will be vital as you contribute to automating end-to-end test coverage for new features within sprints, so that every release is backed by comprehensive testing in our suite from the outset. Additionally, you will occasionally assist with manual testing, utilizing those insights to refine our testing strategy and suite.

As a valued member of our Quality Engineering (QE) working group, your insights and ownership will help shape our testing strategies and determine how we execute them across the organization. Reporting to the QE Manager, you will join another quality engineer on this expanding team, enjoying the opportunity for autonomy while receiving the necessary support to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft and enhance automation tests by:
  • Collaborating with the team to refine our automation framework.
  • Expanding our E2E test suite to continuously elevate test coverage.
  • Assisting fellow engineers in contributing to and utilizing the test suite.
• Develop functional manual tests when necessary.
• Participate actively in an Agile cross-functional team, driving the release of features with minimal bugs.
• Contribute to the improvement of our testing practices and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as a member of our QE working group.
• Mentor and coach teammates across engineering disciplines to bolster their test coverage contributions.

Competencies

Role-based:

• Proven expertise in writing automated tests for web applications utilizing Cypress, Mocha, and Chai, with familiarity in Selenium, Playwright, or similar tools.
• Experience in formulating test strategies encompassing both manual and automated testing.
• Solid foundation in testing principles and methodologies.
• Knowledge of automated testing practices, non-functional testing, test case data management, and insights into accessibility and security testing.
• Proficiency in developing both automated and manual tests within an Agile/Scrum framework.
• Familiarity with CI tools, especially GitHub, and their integration.
• Willingness to support manual testing efforts as needed.
• Understanding of performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or K6.
• Awareness of accessibility and localization challenges.
• A hands-on approach to action, starting with small initiatives and iterating towards scalable solutions.
• Capability to build strong relationships internally and externally, enhancing collaboration across cross-functional teams to resolve challenges.
• Aptitude for independently tackling complex technical issues and delivering solutions while asking for assistance when necessary.
