We are seeking exceptionally skilled and motivated software engineers who take pride in their craft to join our dynamic Engineering team in London. In this role, you’ll collaborate within a diverse and cross-functional team alongside product managers and designers, working closely with various business units to create effective code that addresses real challenges for our internal and external clients. You’ll have the opportunity to take charge of the services under your team’s purview, ensuring their development aligns seamlessly with the overarching AlphaSights Engineering strategy while also mentoring junior Engineers. Your Responsibilities:

1. Architect Innovative Solutions: Identify optimal technical solutions to business challenges, actively contributing toward an architectural vision aimed at establishing the premier research platform globally.

2. Deliver Functional Code: Utilize React for frontend development and Kotlin microservices with Postgres for backend services, with some legacy services still operating on Ruby on Rails. We’re open to exploring new technologies that could enhance our existing stack.

3. Deploy and Refine: Implement frequent releases for our customers via CircleCI and Spinnaker for CI/CD, quickly gathering feedback to refine and improve subsequent iterations.

4. Enhance Your Skills: Accelerate your learning curve by engaging in cutting-edge technology development with seasoned colleagues. Utilize our Learning and Development budget to cultivate specific technical proficiencies.

5. Service Maintenance and Problem-Solving: Conduct vigilant monitoring of services, swiftly identifying errors, diagnosing root causes, and executing timely fixes.

Who You Are:

• You likely hold a degree in a STEM field, although we welcome candidates with unconventional paths to expertise.
• Experienced in a Mature Engineering Team: We seek individuals who are ready to evolve further in their careers.
• Technical Competence: Proficiency in at least one programming language (familiarity with Kotlin and Ruby is desired) and experience with relational databases are essential.
• Impactful Past Contributions: You have a track record of making significant contributions in previous positions, demonstrating a high level of drive, proactivity, and independence in overcoming challenges and achieving remarkable results.
• Detail-Oriented: You hold yourself to high standards, ensuring precision and thoroughness in your work.
