Position Overview

The Senior R&D Documentation Specialist is pivotal in crafting, refining, and generating an array of essential documentation deliverables for Ansys. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, ensuring every piece is well-organized, accurate, and stylistically coherent. The specialist will engage deeply with development teams to stay updated on product evolution, identifying the need for fresh documentation, as well as updates to existing resources.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze audience requirements to produce engaging end-user documentation, Getting Started Guides, API scripting resources, tutorials, and video content for Ansys HFSS.
• Revise and enhance existing documentation to align with current standards and specifications.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of Ansys products and the associated documentation tools, processes, and rules.
• Collaborate with the HFSS development and Ansys ACE teams to fulfill technical documentation needs.
• Operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating independence and initiative.
• Mentor fellow documentation specialists, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communication, Computer Science, English, or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• Proficient in English, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Experienced in collecting and analyzing complex technical information from a variety of sources, with an acute attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to identify effective methods to present content, developing user-focused documentation that excels in quality, consistency, and precision.
• Able to juggle multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, deadline-driven context.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and XML.
• Skilled in image and video editing.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Familiar with Ansys HFSS or similar 3D simulation applications.
• Experience with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, oXygen, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Understanding of Python.
• Knowledge of documentation authoring concepts, project management software (ADO), version control (Git), structured documentation practices, and agile development techniques.
