    Department Overview: Nifty Gateway

    At Nifty Gateway Studio, we connect artists with their communities through the world of NFTs. By collaborating with innovative creative talents, we strive to redefine human experiences, developing unique on-chain creative projects. Founded by Duncan and Griffin Cock Foster in 2018 and acquired by Gemini a year later, Nifty Gateway is driven by the belief that blockchain technology can revolutionize the art world, providing artists, creators, and collectors with expanded choices, autonomy, and opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with leadership and fellow Principal Engineers to shape the software architecture for Nifty Gateway.
    • Design, implement, deploy, and maintain resilient services that empower multiple engineering teams.
    • Act as a champion for technical and operational excellence, setting a high standard for the organization.
    • Lead significant cross-functional technical initiatives that drive impact across the company.
    • Establish a long-term technical vision for services within and related to your primary focus area.
    • Review technical design documents, offering constructive feedback and validation.
    • Conduct comprehensive code reviews to ensure the highest quality and enhance peer contributions.

    Essential Qualifications

    • A robust software development background with 8-10 years of experience; proficiency in Python (Django framework and DRF for API is preferred).
    • 5 years of solid experience in distributed systems or cloud computing, with a focus on AWS native technologies and Docker.
    • Proficient in configuration management and infrastructure as code, particularly with Terraform and Ansible.
    • A track record of building and managing low-latency, high-availability systems or cloud-based services.
    • Proven ability to define, oversee, and execute complex engineering project portfolios.

    Desirable Qualifications

    • In-depth expertise in event-driven architecture.
    • Strong knowledge in instrumentation, observability, and monitoring practices.
    • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, with an understanding of relevant security aspects (experience with Kubernetes and EKS is a plus).
    • Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
    • Hands-on experience with tools like Celery, EventBridge, SQS, and SNS.
    • Familiarity with Unity Framework and Generative AI is advantageous.
