As a Senior Engineer at MVF, you will utilize your exceptional technical skills to address intricate, customer-focused challenges while collaborating with talented teams to deliver impactful solutions in a timely manner.
Your journey begins with active involvement in code reviews and daily stand-ups, where you’ll engage in enriching discussions on project delivery, architectural design, and software development for both ongoing and future initiatives. Teaming up with fellow engineers, you will craft high-performing code and resolve complex technical issues, while also mentoring team members to enhance collective expertise and bolster team performance.
After navigating your initial sprints, you will embrace the role of Epic Conductor—an essential shared responsibility within our team. In this capacity, you will take charge of Epics, facilitating their journey through technical discovery, refinement, and delivery by closely collaborating with Product, Stakeholders, and your engineering peers.
In your role as a Senior Engineer at MVF, you will play a pivotal part in the design, development, and deployment of critical software applications that drive MVF’s success. Your analytical prowess will be vital in troubleshooting intricate technical challenges, optimizing system performance, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our engineering solutions. Your contributions will support the establishment and maintenance of robust systems that align with our business goals and spark innovation. You will work alongside a broader engineering team to implement best practices, share knowledge, and influence architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team members at every level to design and develop software solutions
As Epic Conductor, partner with stakeholders, product, and engineering teams to steer the discovery, refinement, and delivery of an Epic
Take ownership of requirements to ensure the delivery of well-tested software, proposing alternative solutions as needed
Engage with business teams to pinpoint and resolve issues with existing software
Contribute to enhancements in team tools and processes, including CI, testing, architecture, and operational methodologies
Work with the broader engineering and technical teams to continually improve the MVF workplace
What Success Looks Like:
Delivering high-quality, well-tested code on time and in compliance with specifications, while minimizing bugs
Actively interacting with the product management team to proactively identify, discuss, and contribute to solutions and feature enhancements
Taking responsibility for delivering features from the planning phase through deployment and monitoring
Collaborating closely with other Senior and Lead Engineers to devise and implement effective architectural solutions
Participating in daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and other agile ceremonies with the engineering team
Fostering team growth by mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers and sharing knowledge
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A proven history of commercial full-stack software development
Expertise in React and TypeScript
Experience in deploying production systems using Node.js
A strong problem-solving mentality and a desire to gain in-depth understanding of complex domains
A collaborative approach to engineering within diverse teams
An understanding of Agile/Lean development practices and continuous improvement methodologies
The ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities
A dedicated focus on task management and dependable delivery
Bonus Points For:
Proficiency in an additional programming language
A track record of leading technical explorations of complex features, translating them into detailed, team-ready development tasks
Experience with AWS deployments
Exposure to making architectural decisions
Experience with MySQL or similar relational database systems
A history of helping colleagues enhance their skills and confidence, contributing to a stronger, more capable engineering team
