Responsibilities of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA):
– Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate the skills and needs of clients on your team
– Create, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and behavior intervention plans
– Provide regular staff training and supervision, alongside constructive feedback to enhance staff performance and client outcomes
– Organize caregiver meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration
– Manage documentation for internal and external audits
– Identify and engage clients and families needing additional support, including high-risk behavior management, social skills groups, and family support initiatives
– Foster a culture of positivity and engagement by promoting team morale and recognizing team members, while steering clear of negative behaviors
– Actively participate in professional development and share insights with the clinical team
– Maintain current licensure, certifications, and credentials as required by CCABA, insurance payors, BACB, and state regulations
Essential Qualifications for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA):
– BCBA certification
– Proven experience in management and leadership, with strong interaction skills for engaging families, staff, clients, and community partners
– Proficient in assessing skills and deficits across diverse domains
– Skilled in creating individualized treatment and behavior intervention plans, with continuous evaluation of progress and gaps
– Familiarity with a variety of ABA methodologies
– Effective in communicating with parents and caregivers across center, home, community, and school settings for skill generalization and transition training
– Competent in utilizing technology and various software for compliance with all mandated requirements
Educational and Certification Requirements:
– Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field
– BCBA certification
– Minimum of two years’ experience working with children or young adults on the autism spectrum
– Preferred: Experience supervising BCBA/BCaBA and completion of relevant standards modules
– Credentialed as a BCBA by the BACB, with active memberships and certifications from appropriate professional organizations (e.g., ABAI, First Aid Certification, CPR Certification).
