Role Overview
As a User Experience Designer II, you’ll craft intuitive and engaging experiences for users of ANSYS products and services. This role involves evaluating the functional and content needs of various products, conceptualizing storyboards, developing wireframes and task flows tailored to user requirements, and producing visually compelling mockups. A strong affinity for visual design coupled with an understanding of current UI trends and technologies is crucial to succeed in this intermediate position, which focuses heavily on content production and effective communication. Here, you’ll gain valuable insights into the intricacies of UX design, all while enhancing your presentation and communication skills.
You will play a vital role in creating a new web-based collaborative solution for the ModelCenter and optiSLang product lines. This project will leverage an innovative modeling framework, advanced web technologies, micro-services, and integrations with Ansys’s core products. Your contributions will help shape user interactions and workflows for new features, used by Ansys customers to develop next-generation systems in groundbreaking industries like Aerospace and Defense, Automotive, and Semiconductors.
Location: Fully Remote Opportunities Available within the US
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and assess state-of-the-art user interfaces.
- Review user experience artifacts from fellow UX team members.
- Employ prototyping tools and UX toolkits effectively.
- Conduct and analyze usability studies.
- Articulate design rationale across various product development teams.
- Document usability and UX challenges with actionable recommendations for enhancement.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, development teams, and other designers.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- BS or BA in Human-Computer Interaction, Design Engineering, or Industrial Design, with 2 years of experience or an MS degree.
- Demonstrated experience in technical software development through academic, research, or industry projects.
- Proficient in English with professional working proficiency.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Experience with:
- UX design and collaboration tools, including Figma, Balsamiq, or similar software.
- UI implementation technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, and React.
- Screen capturing, editing, and video editing software.
- Adobe Creative Suite.
Ability to:
- Iterate on designs seamlessly, taking direction and refining towards a unified design.
- Organize deliverables for both current projects and future reference.
- Communicate effectively and professionally through various channels including email, chat, and remote meetings.
- Rapidly prototype using available tools.
- Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) or optimization principles is a plus.
