  • Salary: Between £37,500 and £46,215 (dependent on location)
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM

    Your Responsibilities

    In the position of Functional Assessor, you will play a vital role in evaluating individuals and understanding how their disabilities or health conditions impact their work capabilities. Leveraging your clinical knowledge, you will conduct thorough assessments, taking detailed medical histories and performing physical examinations. Your findings will culminate in clear, precise reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), enabling them to determine each individual’s eligibility for benefits.

    This role encompasses both face-to-face and virtual assessments, meaning you will connect with individuals through in-person meetings and telephone or video calls. Regardless of the medium, your approach will remain compassionate and sensitive, ensuring you ask insightful questions while maintaining the highest standards of practice.

    You can count on having ample time to conduct thorough assessments and give your full attention to each individual. Although you will work independently, you will be integrated into a broader multi-disciplinary team, providing you with a supportive environment.

    Who We’re Looking For

    • A registered General, Mental Health, or Learning Disability Nurse with at least 12 months of recent, diverse post-registration experience
    • Experience in functional assessments and clinical decision-making is advantageous
    • A record of continuous professional development highlighted in your CV
    • Registered with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council)
    • Strong understanding of clinical governance and a commitment to achieving designated customer service levels and targets
    • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficient IT skills, including experience with various software applications
    • Self-aware and dedicated to ongoing professional growth
    • Integrity-driven, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and honesty
    • Motivated to enhance the quality of customer service, displaying empathy and respect in every assessment
    • Able to take initiative and meet deadlines and performance standards independently
    • Ready to collaborate effectively as a dependable team member, supporting the multi-disciplinary approach
    • Legally eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship (Note: Sponsorship is not available).
