Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is excited to announce an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in GEOINT and geospatial data within a significant DoD/IC initiative. This dynamic program is centered around the modernization and enhancement of GEOINT systems, focusing on architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow management, network design, and implementation strategies.

Location: Flexible, with a hybrid work model (both on-site in San Diego, CA, and remote)

Clearance Requirement: Must hold an active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional systems engineering support for large-scale systems, including significant system components and their interactions.
  • Craft comprehensive system architecture and operations concept presentations, formulate detailed system requirements, and produce essential documentation.
  • Drive the system development process by creating system engineering management plans, as well as system integration and testing strategies.
  • Collaborate efficiently with software development, testing, integration, deployment, and maintenance teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical field with a minimum of 8 years of applicable systems engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years of recent experience specifically related to GEOINT and geospatial data.
  • Deep understanding of NSG Standards, particularly concerning Electro-Optical (EO) and/or Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR) data.
  • Proven ability to evaluate GEOINT data and ensure its compliance with NSG Standards.
  • Experience in active participation within product development working groups (PDWG) to provide insights and refine technical specifications.
  • Proficient in assessing and navigating potential system modifications.
  • Over 5 years of experience in system architecture within enterprise software environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with reviewing NSG Standards such as ISO/IEC Joint BIIF Profile (JBP), STDI-0002, and BPJ2K01.20, along with NGA.STND.0044.
  • Knowledgeable in evaluating sample data against NSG Standards.
  • Proficient with GEOINT Vector data and cognizant of current and future use cases.
  • Experience curating or managing GEOINT analyst workflows, particularly in ABI tradecraft.
  • Solid understanding of the TCPED intelligence lifecycle.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary ranging from $180,000 to $240,000 based on experience.
