We invite enthusiastic individuals who relish a blend of linguistic and technical challenges to consider an exciting opportunity at Welocalize. We are in search of a Localization QA Tester / Proofreader who possesses native-level fluency in Swedish along with robust technical acumen.

In this role, you will be responsible for testing a diverse range of applications and tools, executing comprehensive test cases, identifying localization discrepancies, and effectively reporting these issues using our internal bug-tracking system. You will also take part in verifying corrections upon their implementation.

This position is fully remote, part-time, and offers a fixed-term contract for one year, with the possibility of extension. The weekly commitment is 20 hours, organized into shifts of 4 hours per day (specific timings to be determined).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing on web-based systems and applications specifically for Mac OS X and iOS.
• Execute test cases and scripts to guarantee localization precision.
• Identify, report, and manage localization issues via our internal bug tracking system.
• Verify fixes to ensure both linguistic and functional quality.
• Distinguish and prioritize linguistic issues based on their impact, differentiating between critical and non-critical errors.
• Document and communicate detailed reproduction steps for identified issues.
• Collaborate effectively with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Native-level proficiency in Swedish, encompassing grammar, vocabulary, composition, and punctuation.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Prior experience in translation, localization, or linguistic QA.
• Strong technical abilities, including troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with bug-tracking systems and the execution of test cases.
• Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team-oriented group.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic environment.
