Exciting Job Opening – Join Us as a Part-Time VAT Specialist – Fully Remote

Your next career adventure awaits! We are collaborating with a local Government client eager to welcome an Interim VAT Specialist to their dynamic team.

Contract Details:

Duration: 6 Months

Compensation: Dependent on Experience

IR35 Status: To be confirmed

Work Schedule: Ideally 2-3 days per week

Anticipated Start Date: Mid-July

Location: Fully Remote

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly VAT returns.
• Conducting compliance testing to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Reviewing VAT reports generated by the system and identifying areas for improvement.
• Serving as the primary contact for VAT-related inquiries and advice.
• Managing partial exemptions and options to tax.
• Engaging in VAT project work, collaborating with different services and providing expertise on related matters.

This role is predominantly strategic, seeking a VAT Accountant capable of consulting on complex VAT queries. While a hands-on approach is essential, you will have the support of a Finance Administrator who will assist with more routine VAT responsibilities.

What We’re Looking For:

• Demonstrable experience as a VAT Accountant within a local authority environment is essential.
• While a full accounting qualification is advantageous, we also welcome applicants who are part-qualified or have relevant experience.
