As a Clinical Pharmacist at Montu, you will operate within your clinical competencies as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include providing authoritative insights on clinical medicines management, conducting structured remote consultations and medication reviews, overseeing medicines during care transitions, and collaborating with both clinical and non-clinical teams to guarantee the safe prescribing and dispensing of CBPM. Your role is essential for enhancing care quality and operational effectiveness, driven by a passion for delivering outstanding service.
Full-time commitment—40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with one weekend per month required.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct initial consultations with patients to authenticate medical histories and assess eligibility for CBPM treatments.
Engage in remote consultations with patients currently prescribed CBPM for ongoing monitoring and follow-up.
Collaborate closely with consultants and fellow clinicians within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure safe prescribing aligns with established guidelines.
Partner with pharmacies to facilitate seamless dispensing and timely delivery of medications to patients.
Oversee the repeat prescription reauthorization process by assessing patient requests and flagging medications that require a review according to service level agreements (SLAs).
Conduct clinical audits of prescribing practices to maintain safety and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Accurately update patients’ electronic health records following consultations and prescriptions.
Implement changes in medication practices stemming from MHRA alerts, product withdrawals, and local and national guidance.
Collaborate with governance and operational teams to ensure compliance with CQC standards concerning medication management.
Contribute to the operational efficiency and profitability of the service by monitoring and auditing medication processes.
Participate in relevant work-related meetings as necessary.
Maintain all mandatory training and stay informed about company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Be open to shift-based and flexible working as needed.
Engage in clinical supervision to foster reflective practice.
Work in close coordination with the operations team to deliver care promptly.
Collaborate with the Clinical Pharmacist lead to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) established by the organization.
Qualifications We Seek:
A UK-qualified and registered Pharmacist holding a valid GPhC number.
Completion of a CPD-accredited medical cannabis educational program is preferred, with training available for the successful candidate.
Independent prescriber qualification.
A minimum of four years of post-qualification experience.
Comprehensive therapeutic and clinical knowledge concerning CBPM principles.
A self-driven individual with meticulous attention to detail.
Professional, ethical, and dedicated to delivering exceptional customer care.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Outstanding communication abilities and confidence in interacting with patients remotely.
