Remote Opportunity – Data Science Manager (UK-Based with Occasional Office Travel)
Join us for an exciting journey as a Data Science Manager! This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to lead and mentor a talented team of Data Scientists while delivering impactful Data Science and AI programs across the organization. You will play a central role in enhancing Data Quality, Data Governance, and promoting Best Practices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate hands-on experience with Python coding and cloud computing, coupled with proven leadership in managing data science projects.
Compensation Package:
Competitive salary up to £66,197 for National roles or up to £71,869 for London-based positions (within M25), with additional bonuses of £7,000 for exceptional candidates. A home working allowance of £581 per year is also included.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of the AI and Data Science initiatives throughout the organization.
- Develop and enhance the existing Data Science Team to deliver innovative Data Science solutions.
- Serve as a champion for Data Science and Advanced Statistics, offering guidance to colleagues on complex analytical tasks.
- Collaborate on the enhancement of the AI and Data Science program to achieve high-impact outcomes.
- Advocate for excellence and innovation in data science methodologies, learning from best practices in health and social care services, both nationally and internationally.
- Evaluate various advanced statistical and data science modeling techniques, advising team members on the best tools for organizational needs.
- Manage competing priorities within the Data & Insight unit to ensure timely delivery and effective stakeholder communication.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships internally and externally to propel the AI and Data Science program forward.
- Lead and facilitate multi-disciplinary teams to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ensure rigorous quality control measures are in place for consistent and relevant unit outputs.
- Stay informed on industry trends and developments in data policy and care delivery structures.
- Foster a culture of respect and equity, aligning with our diversity and inclusion strategy.
Skills and Experience:
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or significant equivalent professional experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of various data science techniques, including machine learning and natural language processing, with the ability to apply them to diverse analytical challenges.
- Proven experience in delivering complex analytics and data science solutions effectively.
- Experience in deploying Data Science models at scale and collaborating with architecture and engineering teams.
- Demonstrated leadership in developing and guiding data science or advanced analytics teams.
- Exceptional persuasive and influencing skills with a track record of managing conflicts and articulating clear rationales for decision-making.
- Expertise in managing stakeholder expectations and facilitating discussions despite high complexity and tight timelines.
- Proven ability to communicate compellingly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in data science tools, particularly Python, R, and SQL.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Significant experience with cloud-based tools like Databricks, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure AI Foundry, alongside a passion for mentoring others in their use.
