Role Synopsis: In the capacity of a Lead AI/ML Data Scientist, you will spearhead our data science initiatives centered around AI and ML, guiding the creation and deployment of sophisticated models. Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Inspire and guide a team of AI/ML data scientists, offering expertise, direction, and encouragement to propel AI/ML innovation and execution.
- Project Management: Command the planning and progression of AI/ML initiatives, outlining project scope, objectives, and deliverables while ensuring on-time, on-budget completion.
- Model Development: Oversee the design and application of advanced AI and ML models tailored to address complex business challenges, employing methodologies such as supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and deep learning.
- Feature Engineering: Direct the feature engineering process, pinpointing significant features and transforming raw data to enhance model performance and accuracy.
- Model Evaluation and Validation: Supervise the evaluation and validation of model efficacy, establishing suitable metrics and validation methods to guarantee reliability and generalizability.
- Hyperparameter Tuning: Manage the optimization process for model hyperparameters and configurations, utilizing techniques like grid search, random search, and Bayesian optimization for peak performance.
- Model Deployment: Oversee the integration of AI and ML models into production settings, ensuring smooth alignment with existing systems for real-time inference and decision-making.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Lead the surveillance and upkeep of deployed models, instituting monitoring and alert systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work alongside cross-functional teams including software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver holistic AI/ML solutions that fulfill customer needs.
- Research and Innovation: Keep abreast of the latest research and technological advancements in AI and ML, investigating cutting-edge approaches to amplify model performance and functionality.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline; PhD is a bonus.
- At least 7 years of experience in data science, emphasizing AI and ML techniques and applications.
- Proven leadership experience, showcasing the ability to guide and mentor a team of data scientists.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R, alongside experience with data science libraries and frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and pandas.
- Deep understanding of AI and ML concepts and algorithms, covering supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
- Experience in feature engineering, model evaluation, and hyperparameter tuning methodologies.
- Familiarity with deployment processes in machine learning, including model deployment frameworks and containerization technologies.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of effectively interacting within cross-disciplinary teams and conveying technical information to non-technical audiences.
