    Responsibilities

    As our new QA Manager, your role extends beyond management – you will be a coach & mentor in leveraging your expertise in change management to facilitate organizational transformation. This position will also tap into your experience in QA automation frameworks and testing to participate in defining and maturing the testing strategy for Ascension’s enterprise data warehouse, with a goal of ensuring high quality standards and business requirements are met. The QA team works closely with delivery teams and internal business partners to support large scale data solutions. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical & problem solving skills, and a drive for exploring and implementing new technology and processes to align the framework with the organization’s data strategy.

    • 7+ years of hands on experience developing scalable and repeatable frameworks, methodologies, and automations, and quality control metrics data collection on data acquisition pipelines

    • Experience with building & leading a team of talented testing engineers and analysts

    • Cloud Experience – Azure, AWS, but Google Cloud Platform preferred;

    • Experience with one or more data pipeline orchestration tools like Apache airflow, cloud dataflow, talent, informatica or AWS data pipeline.

    • Experience with GCP platform development tools Pub/sub, cloud storage, big table, big query, data flow, data proc, and composer desired.

    • Experience with testing web services and APIs as in RESTful and SOAP

    • Thorough experience with testing resources such as Zephyr, Selenium, Apium, Cucumber, etc

    • Experience testing data quality using test automation resources, as well as shaping the automation scripts using an automation framework

    • Strong experience in SQL, Python, Java, Spark; and the ability to use SQL resources to query a database to retrieve data.

    • Understanding of Agile behaviors across various frameworks in addition to being skilled in JIRA utilization

    • Experience in a large scale, high-volume data warehouse environment.

    • Expertise with modern open-source database development skills.

    • Experience with version control platform github

    • Experience with development ecosystems including Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, CI/CD, and Terraform.

    • Have a solid understanding of both relational and NoSQL database technologies.

    • Ability to provide an engineering team instruction on day-to-day work and general direction on more complex tasks and projects

    • Agile experience and the ability to collaborate within delivery squads to produce the best possible end products.

    • Experience contributing to and leveraging jira and confluence.

    • Makes recommendations to leadership on new processes, tools and techniques

    • Makes decisions regarding daily priorities for a work group; provides guidance to and/or assists staff on non-routine or escalated issues

    • Able to effectively communicate status of deliverables and highly technical information to numerous audiences, including leadership, the user community, and less-experienced staff.

    • Provide work effort estimates to management to assist in setting priorities

    Requirements

    Education:

    • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’sdegree/Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

    • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

    Additional Preferences

    • Master’s degree preferred.

    • Experience with google cloud platform development tools Pub/sub, cloud storage, big table, big query, data flow, data proc, and composer.

    • Experience working with health care data.

    • Ability to document designs and concepts

    • Hands on experience in Analysis, Design, Coding and Testing phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
