In this influential role within Target’s Cyber Fusion Center (CFC), you will spearhead the development and maintenance of a vital technology platform that supports our organization’s mission. Collaborating closely with product management, you will oversee diverse teams to ensure the successful implementation of our cybersecurity initiatives. This position involves engaging with key stakeholders, including threat intelligence and incident response experts, to create customized automation and tooling solutions tailored to their unique requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Staying ahead of industry trends in software development and design, leveraging agile methodologies to execute quarterly planning in alignment with the fusion center’s technology strategy.
- Utilizing strong problem-solving skills and showcasing technical leadership alongside effective communication abilities, ensuring flexibility, accountability, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Managing a blend of both in-house and vendor-based solutions, ensuring integration through automation and API development.
- Advising technology and information security teams, including senior executives, on technological advancements that bolster defenses against cyber threats.
- Aligning technological pursuits with the broader business objectives and supporting various enterprise projects, driving proactive engagement in technological strategy.
- Steering the annual planning of technology initiatives while managing budgets and vendor contracts related to security tools and developer resources.
- Leading a highly skilled technical team, focusing on career development and performance management.
- Overseeing all infrastructure needs for security applications, which includes dedicated data centers and both cloud and on-premise deployments.
The role entails a dynamic range of duties, which may evolve as business needs dictate.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in the cybersecurity domain.
- In-depth expertise with cybersecurity tools (SIEM/SOAR/TIP) and the capacity to effectively communicate their value to both customers and management.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) as well as backend languages (Python, Java, Go, Node).
- Experience in maintaining databases and web application technologies.
- Familiarity with large data streaming pipelines for both SQL and NoSQL security log data.
- Hands-on experience with data center hardware and the management of non-attributable environments.
- A proven track record in leading and developing multifunctional cybersecurity organizations.
- A capacity for mentorship, driving growth and improvement in team members.
- A broad and deep understanding of business, technology, IT, and the latest cybersecurity trends and techniques.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with Google SecOps, Chronicle, Google Cloud, or similar SIEM/SOAR/TIP solutions.
- History of successfully migrating security platforms between in-house and vendor solutions.
- Experience in integrating generative AI into security products and services, including utilizing custom RAG pipelines.
- A strong cybersecurity foundation that informs customer needs and requirements.
This role offers the possibility of a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement (referred to internally as “Flex for Your Day”), depending on business needs. A Remote arrangement means working full-time from home or another non-Target location, with occasional visits to headquarters. A Hybrid/Flex arrangement allows for both remote and on-site work based on the role and day-to-day requirements, with obligations to remain within the primary work location’s country.
