In this role, you will:
Take the lead in developing cutting-edge AI and ML models and algorithms tailored to enhance our product’s core functionalities in cybersecurity and observability.
Work in close collaboration with software engineers, applied scientists, and product managers to seamlessly incorporate innovative generative AI solutions into our offerings.
Keep abreast of the latest advancements in AI and ML research, ensuring that these insights are reflected in our technology strategies.
Actively engage in cross-functional teams, contributing to strategic discussions about AI research initiatives and shaping product roadmaps.
To thrive in this position, you should possess the following qualifications:
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline, or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
Hands-on experience with training and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs).
Expertise in time series anomaly detection methodologies.
A strong foundation in AI/ML technologies, encompassing deep learning, time series analysis, natural language processing, and unsupervised learning.
Proven expertise in Generative AI solutions and Large Language Models (LLMs).
A track record of developing complex, large-scale models and successfully transitioning them from research to production environments.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to convert research findings into practical, real-world applications.
A deep understanding of machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages prevalent in AI research.
Strong communication skills, enabling you to convey intricate technical concepts to both technical and lay audiences effectively.
Preferred experience in the Cybersecurity and/or Observability sectors.

Compensation Overview:
Base Pay Range:
For the SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro: $146,300.00 per year
For California (excluding SF Bay Area), Washington (excluding Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts: $131,170.00 per year
For all other locations outside California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro, and Washington DC Metro: $117,040.00 per year
Fllexibility is key at Splunk; we offer a variety of working arrangements including remote and in-office options. Our compensation structure is tailored to market standards, and the base salary will be determined based on location, along with the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and experience. This role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation, as well as potential equity or long-term cash awards.
