    Join a dynamic team at the School of Medicine in Stanford, California, as an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator in an exciting remote role with minimal on-site requirements! This position is situated within the esteemed Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and focuses on conducting impactful clinical research trials aimed at developing preventive interventions for substance use for individuals and their families.

    As a vital member of our research team, you will engage in various essential activities, including the coordination of clinical projects, recruiting participants, monitoring data collection, and fostering relationships with community stakeholders. Your responsibilities will encompass performing literature reviews, tracking project progress, and managing participant remuneration.     This remote position allows you the flexibility to work primarily from home, with a requirement for on-site work of one day a week or less.

    Your primary responsibilities will include:

    • Conducting thorough literature reviews and synthesizing findings.
    • Executing qualitative interviews and focus groups while analyzing the resulting data.
    • Coordinating participant schedules and providing necessary set-up prior to study involvement.
    • Managing clerical tasks related to regulatory document preparation, including maintaining consent forms and subject logs.
    • Assisting with screening, recruiting, and obtaining consent from study participants.
    • Extracting data from source documents as directed for research purposes.
    • Processing participant compensation payments and sending thank you letters post-trial activities.
    • Supporting any additional post-study activities as required.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Exceptional writing and communication abilities.
    • A keen eye for detail.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Biology, or a relevant field.
    • Prior clinical research experience, especially involving mental health or substance use populations.
    • Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines in clinical research is a plus (or willingness to learn).
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

    Education & Experience Requirements:

    A minimum of a two-year college degree paired with at least one year of pertinent experience or a mix of relevant education and experience is necessary.

    Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Basic understanding of medical terminology.
    • Strong capability with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Drive tools (Docs, Sheets).

    Physical Requirements:

    • Frequent movement, including standing, walking, twisting, bending, and fine motor tasks.
    • Occasionally sitting to perform desk-based tasks, plus the ability to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
    • Rarely requiring more strenuous physical activity like climbing or lifting weights over 40 pounds.

    The anticipated pay range for this position is between $23.33 and $29.51 per hour. Factors influencing the final offer will include the responsibilities involved, the candidate’s qualifications, departmental budget, market comparisons, and other variables.
