As an Associate Director of Actuarial Services in the UHC Medicare & Retirement segment, you will collaborate with an exceptional actuarial team committed to revolutionizing health care through exemplary services and impactful products. Your focus will be on Medicare Part D, where you’ll drive financial performance and align with business goals through strategic insights.
With the flexibility to work remotely from any location within the U.S., you’ll be tasked with tackling challenging projects that require innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee intricate actuarial models to assess and implement changes affecting pricing and risk assumptions for Medicare Part D.
- Lead initiatives concerning both new and established business ventures.
- Guide comprehensive competitive analyses.
- Evaluate the influence of various actions on premiums and product proposals.
- Mentor and cultivate your outstanding team of actuaries.
- Supervise the creation of actuarial pricing models.
- Formulate pricing methodologies and assumptions.
- Analyze trends and forecasts for strategic planning.
- Contribute to the design and evaluation of new products.
- Identify and solve technical, operational, and organizational challenges.

Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Completion of 4+ actuarial exams.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in actuarial services or health economics.
- At least 2 years mentoring actuarial students or junior team members.
- Deep understanding of design and pricing methodologies in health care.
- Competence in SAS (Statistical Analysis System), SQL (Structured Query Language), or other programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Designation as an ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries).
- Experience in pricing or forecasting for Medicare Advantage, PBM, and/or Part D.

The salary range for this position is $106,800 to $194,200 annually for full-time employment, influenced by various factors, including local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications.
