Expect to handle 50-70 calls per day, providing solutions and support to customers seeking guidance on their health benefits, including helping them navigate enrollment in new plans. This full-time position entails a 40-hour work week from Monday to Friday, with flexibility required to cover any of our 8-hour shifts during business hours, which run from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm CST. Occasionally, overtime may be necessary based on business demands.
Receive exceptional training through our 10-week paid program, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm CST (schedule may vary). This training will be conducted virtually, and full attendance is crucial for your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively respond to and resolve customer inquiries and issues on the first call by pinpointing their needs related to benefits, eligibility, claims, financial accounts, and correspondence.
- Educate and guide customers on the essentials and advantages of consumer-driven healthcare topics, helping them select the best benefit plans and providers to maximize their health care experience.
- Communicate with healthcare providers on behalf of customers to facilitate appointment-setting or coordinate assistance with internal specialists.
- Assist customers in navigating the UnitedHealth Group website and encourage them to utilize our digital self-service tools to foster confidence and independence.
- Act as an essential support resource across various Medicaid markets.
This role offers both challenges and rewards, as you will be tasked with researching complex health issues and plan options for callers. Success in this position requires proficiency in navigating multiple databases while engaging compassionately with clients.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- 2+ years of customer service or relevant experience in issue analysis and resolution.
- This role involves making member calls with an expected volume of 50 – 70 calls daily, requiring full focus and the ability to ensure uninterrupted work time during shifts, except for scheduled breaks.
- Proficiency with Windows PC applications, including the capability to learn new and complex system applications.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Dine’.
- Ability to work full-time between 9:30 am – 6:00 pm CST from Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a Health Care or Insurance environment with knowledge of medical terminology, health plan documents, or benefit design.
- Background in social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, and health promotion, particularly with vulnerable populations.
- Experience in sales or account management.
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Must reside in New Mexico.
- Ensure security for any sensitive company documents (if applicable).
- Establish a dedicated workspace that ensures privacy and is separate from living areas.
- Must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection approved by UnitedHealth Group (wired connection required with minimum speeds of 20mbps download and 5mbps upload; wireless options are not acceptable).
All remote workers must adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.
Your compensation will reflect various factors such as local labor market conditions, education, work experience, and certifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, recognition programs, equity stock purchase options, and 401k contributions (subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this position ranges from $17.74 – $31.63 based on full-time employment, in compliance with all applicable minimum wage laws.
