Job Description
This role is centered around the design of distribution systems for overhead and underground electric lines, operating between 4kV and 69kV. Key responsibilities include design activities, conducting quality checks, overseeing project timelines, reporting any schedule or budget changes, identifying potential risks that may impact costs and schedules, and suggesting enhancements for the design and construction of distribution initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Create designs for both overhead and underground distribution facilities.
- Develop design sketches, drawings, cost estimates, bills of materials, and all necessary documentation for construction projects.
- Utilize standards, guidelines, and industry specifications in the design of electric distribution facilities.
- Conduct calculations relevant to distribution system designs.
- Prepare and manage design documents for construction, including plans, profiles, structural loadings, and equipment specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers to meet system requirements and define Right of Way for proposed installations.
- Gather field data as needed, partnering with field surveying teams for accurate design preparation.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in drafting and design with Microstation or AutoCAD.
- Experience in piping design and CAD drafting.
- Familiarity with traffic control drafting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- An Associate’s degree in applied science (AAS) in drafting and CAD design, or a relevant field such as civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering technology.
- Equivalent experience or educational background may be considered.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $25.00 to $32.00. Eligibility for certain benefits may vary based on your employment classification and duration. Available benefits for this temporary position may include:
