    Key Responsibilities:

    As part of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in interpreting and abstracting various data (clinical, demographic, etc.) from electronic medical records for both malignant and non-malignant tumors into the network cancer registry database. This task must adhere to the national standards and comply with Ohio’s cancer reporting legal requirements. You may also be assigned additional responsibilities as needed.

    Qualifications:

    To be considered for this position, you should possess an Associate degree in a healthcare field, which must include coursework in medical terminology, pharmacology, and a minimum of two semesters of human anatomy and physiology (or equivalent).

    Experience:

    While 2-5 years of cancer registry experience within a healthcare system or network cancer registry structure is preferred, we are eager to find the right candidate passionate about making a difference.

    Licenses:

    You must hold an Ohio Cancer Registrar certification as well as the ODS (Oncology Data Specialist) credential from the National Cancer Registrar’s Association. Having a Registered Health Information Technician or Administrator (RHIT/RHIA) credential from the American Health Information Management Association is preferred but not mandatory.

    Essential Skills:

    To succeed in this role, you will need a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, cancer diagnosis and treatment, as well as database quality assurance.
