Joining our team means you will expand your knowledge and skills within a supportive environment while benefiting from the flexibility of a remote work setting. You will work alongside innovative professionals in a dynamic, cross-disciplinary team dedicated to making a lasting impact in mental health care.

As our Contracts Manager, you will be integral in developing and managing strategic commissioning and contract initiatives across both public and private sectors. This role is vital for enhancing the market presence of Psychiatry UK and informing stakeholders about our current capabilities and future potential in psychiatric care.

    Your Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of contracts, focusing on:

    • Implementing effective contract management practices
    • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
    • Systematically documenting, reporting, and sharing insights to foster continuous improvement
    • Providing expert guidance on non-contractual activities, especially regarding the Right to Choose program

The position is home-based (candidates must reside in the UK), though occasional travel for face-to-face meetings at various UK locations may be necessary.

As our Contracts Manager, you will:

    • Lead the execution and oversight of essential commissioning and contracting processes across public and private sectors.
    • Ensure that all contracts adhere to NHS contracting standards and procurement regulations.
    • Facilitate successful contract delivery in partnership with internal teams and external collaborators by:
    • Conducting effective and regular contract review meetings
    • Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Managing the execution, variation, performance, and closure of contracts
    • Collaborating with Psychiatry-UK teams to meet KPIs and commissioned service specifications.
    • Sharing insights and lessons to enhance Psychiatry UK’s service offerings.
    • Supporting the preparation and submission of detailed tenders for new business initiatives.
    • Working closely with the Information Governance team to ensure Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) are accurate and current.
    • Partnering with the Finance team to align financial aspects across contracts, recommending enhancements to maximize value throughout the contract lifecycle.
    • Fostering strong, productive relationships with commissioners, other purchasers, and internal stakeholders.
    • Collaborating across multi-functional teams to integrate diverse views, promoting collaboration and shared understanding of performance and service delivery.

    What You Need to Succeed:

To thrive in the role of Contracts Manager, you should be:

A self-starter who can effectively manage your own workload, with exceptional planning, organizational, and time management skills. You will demonstrate strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Your keen eye for detail will support you in maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times.

This position requires someone who performs well under pressure, thinks creatively, solves problems strategically, and negotiates with confidence. You should also feel comfortable analyzing and communicating complex information in writing and verbally.

    Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

    • A degree-level education or equivalent, or a professional qualification in contract management, procurement, or strategic commissioning
    • Comprehensive knowledge of NHS contracts and related regulations, including recent updates in procurement legislation
    • Demonstrated experience managing bids, tenders, and contracts within the healthcare sector, ideally familiar with NHS-funded private provision
    • A proven track record in contract management, with an understanding of both commissioner and provider perspectives
