What We’re Looking For:
As an Electrical Inspector, you will be tasked with conducting field evaluations of energized electrical products at various job sites to ensure adherence to relevant standards and codes, drafting inspection reports, and facilitating clear communication with clients. This role necessitates travel, which will constitute at least 75% of your time.
Location: This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in and legally work in the United States.

The ideal candidate will be based in the greater Lake Forest vicinity.
Salary & Benefits Overview:
The compensation range for this position is between $35 and $49 per hour. Individual salary packages will be determined based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-specific criteria.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Conducting tests and measurements on products according to applicable standards.
Evaluating product compliance with relevant standards.
Recording environmental conditions at job sites.
Applying labels to compliant products.
Documenting corrective actions for non-conformance, including photographing issues.
Issuing comprehensive reports summarizing inspection results to clients and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).
Maintaining communication with clients and AHJs.
Ensuring strict confidentiality for all client information.
Completing additional tasks as required.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
An Associate degree in a technical field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC).
Understanding of basic electrical safety protocols.
Ability to read and interpret industry standards.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather data and draw valid conclusions independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Flexibility to work varied hours, with a workload ranging from 0 to over 40 hours per week.
Physical Demands include:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb at least 30 feet.
Willingness to travel 75% of the time, including air travel and overnight stays.
A valid driver’s license and a dependable driving record are essential.
Applicants must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a City inspector/AHJ.
Membership in IAEI (International Association of Electrical Inspectors).
